In September 2016 we held a peer exchange to our 2015 World Habitat Awards winner Self-Help Housing in the North of England. Our peer exchange brought together 12 participants from five countries to learn about this award-winning approach.

Heather Dodd, from Savage and Dodd Architects in South Africa, said about the experience, “The way you are actually almost renovating people in the same process as renovating housing is an interesting idea and I think that we need to look more closely at how we involve people in our processes and our building processes.”

Watch our short video for a snapshot of the week with insights from those taking part.
