Housing provision has a vital role to play in improving the quality of life of refugees and helping them integrate into mainstream society. The subject of our Windsor consultation in 2006 was to discuss better ways to provide homes for refugees and strengthen communities.

The consultation identified practical ways in which housing providers and public agencies can work together with refugees, local communities, NGOs and the private sector to deliver housing and support to refugee communities. Our publication, Building on Diversity (2006), sets out range of practical actions to enable refugees to be better housed and live in more welcoming and cohesive communities.
