Building a More Sustainable Future

BSHF has carried out a range of collaborative research activities that focus on building sustainable futures. These have included:

 

  • Fair Energy Transition Towards Nearly Zero Energy Buildings - more
  • Impact study on developing local capacity to reduce vulnerability and prevent typhoon damage to housing in central Viet Nam - more
  • Creating sustainable communities in Newcastle Gateshead - more
  • New tricks with old bricks (with Empty Homes) - more

Current activities include:

  • Climate Change, Socio-technical Transitions and Housing Provision in the Global South, with the University of Durham
  • Engaging residents with the energy efficiency of their homes, with the Metropolitan Housing Partnership
  • BSHF is a partner in the EU-funded Nearly Zero Energy Challenge, following on from the Power House Europe project, which identified and shared environmentally sustainable housing practice among social housing providers in Europe - more
