Research Funding

Proposals for possible areas of research collaboration and funding are always welcome.

The current research priorities of BSHF are:

  • Building a more sustainable future
  • Transferring good housing practice
  • Innovative housing in Europe

What is BSHF looking for in a research proposal?

  • Relevance to its current research priorities
  • Extent to which the research advances current understanding
  • The likely impact of the research on current policy and practice
  • A clear understanding of how to disseminate the findings
  • Soundness of the proposed research methods

How to apply for funding

If you wish to apply for research funding in any of these categories please send a brief summary of the proposed project (500 words maximum) outlining the following:

  1. The aims and relevance of the research
  2. Research methodology and timescale
  3. Proposed budget

Please send a hard copy of the proposal to BSHF as well as an emailed copy. Your outline proposal will be considered by BSHF and if it is felt to be appropriate for further consideration you will be asked to submit a more detailed proposal to be considered by the BSHF Research Selection Committee.

Timescale

There are no fixed deadlines for receipt of proposals, each of which will be considered promptly and on its merits.

Funding Limits

The maximum funding for any project is £12,000 per year for a maximum of three years.

Joint Funding

BSHF is happy to consider proposals where there is more than one research funding body.
