BSHF Response to 'Local Decisions: A fairer future for Social Housing'

The Department for Communities and Local Government outlined major changes to Social Housing in the UK. In January 2011, BSHF submitted a response to these proposed changes.

BSHF responded to the Consultation questions outlined in 'Local Decisions: A fairer future for social housing'. Further evidence was also submitted on three related issues:

  • Affordable Rent
  • Tenure reform
  • Council housing finance reform

Particular reference was made to some potential problems that might emerge if the proposals were not coordinated with other areas of housing and welfare policy.
