In March 2011, BSHF submitted evidence to an inquiry by the Communities and Local Government Select Committee on Regeneration. This inquiry focused on policies outlined by the government in 'Regeneration to enable growth:
What Government is doing in support of community-led regeneration'.
In December 2010, the Work and Pensions Select Committee held an inquiry into proposals to create a Universal Credit. These proposals were set out by the UK government in a White Paper titled "Universal Credit: Welfare that works". BSHF submitted written evidence to the Select Committee on these proposals.
In September 2010, BSHF submitted evidence to the Communities and Local Government Select Committe regarding the impact of the abolition of Regional Spatial Strategies, regional housebuilding targets, which are to be abolished under the Localism Bill.
